一、三峡大学外国语学院简介
三峡大学坐落在世界水电之都、中国旅游名城、三峡工程所在地—湖北省宜昌市。这里有世界闻名的三峡大坝，名人文化及民俗文化历史悠久，中医药资源和特有的生态环境资源丰富。学校是湖北省属高校中招收留学生人数、专业设置和英语授课规模最大的高校，设有汉语水平考试（HSK）考点。学校是中国教育部“来华留学示范基地”建设单位,“优本项目”和“丝路奖学金”项目高校，通过国家来华留学质量认证,现有来华留学生1500余人。学校响应国家“一带一路”倡议，开展国别与区域研究，尼泊尔研究中心入选教育部备案。先后在美国德州达拉斯和非洲乍得建有孔子学院。
三峡大学外国语学院是学校为实现“水电特色鲜明的高水平地方综合性大学”的建设目标而设立的教学和科研实体。现拥有外国语言文学一级学科硕士点，外国语言文学省级重点培育学科，英语语言文学、外国语言学及应用语言学、国别与区域研究、翻译硕士专业学位、学科教学（英语）专业学位五个二级学科硕士点和英语、法语、日语三个本科专业，担负着全校本科生和研究生的英、日、法、德、韩语五个语种的公共外语和二外教学任务。
从2022年起开始招收国别与区域硕士专业来华留学生，现有15名国际学生在本专业学习。目前在校全日制本科生971人，研究生超200人。目前，学院正按照“十四五”发展规划暨2035年发展纲要，满怀信心，为实现 “多语种、高层次、国际化和综合实力较强的地方高校一流外国语学院”的建设目标而努力奋斗。
I. Brief Introduction of CTGU
China Three Gorges University (CTGU) is located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, where there is worldwide famous Three Gorges Project，with a long historic culture on celebrities and folk-custom, rich resources of Chinese traditional medicine and special ecological environment. CTGU, with more than 1500 international students currently, is a major destination in Hubei Province for international students and provides the largest scale of English medium education activities. A Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) center is officially established in CTGU. The University, one of the Demonstration Bases of the Ministry of Education of China for International Students’ Education in China, is authorized in both sending Chinese students’ abroad and accepting international students under CSC scholarships. Under the implement of Belt and Road Initiative, CTGU actively participate in promoting research on International and Regional Studies, for example, the Nepal Research Center of CTGU has been approved by the Ministry of Education. CTGU has also joined the Confucius Institutes establishment in Dallas, Texas, USA and Chad, Africa.
China Three Gorges University established the School of Foreign Languages （SFL） as a teaching and research center to realize the educational goal of building a high-level and comprehensive university with distinctive hydropower characteristics. SFL now offers one primary discipline master's program in foreign language and literature. Under this primary program, five secondary discipline graduate majors are provided, foreign language and literature, linguistics and applied linguistics, international and regional studies, professional master’s degree of translation and interpreting (MTI) and master of education in teaching English.
The program of Master of Arts in International and Regional Studies opened for international students since 2022. More than 15 international students taking offline and online courses in this program. Currently, there are 971 full-time undergraduate home students on campus in the program of BA in English, French, and Japanese respectively while more than 200 post graduate home students in the program of MA in English, Translation, and MEd in English Teaching.
二、招生专业
国别与区域研究
学制：两年
培养目标：
1、掌握现代科研的技术知识和手段，能熟练阅读生源国专业文献资料，且能较熟练地阅读和翻译中文资料，并具有熟练运用生源国官方语言进行写作和交流的能力。
2、了解与国别与区域研究相关学科的前沿成果和理论，初步具备综合交叉运用跨学科一般专业知识，通过对语言对象国及区域的综合研究，形成明确的研究方向和研究特色，对相关课题有较清晰的了解，并对其中的一些问题有自己的见解。
3、具备在国际场合进行跨文化交流、对话、沟通的交际能力，并且具有独立科研能力的专业性人才，能为中国和生源国之间的交流与合作提供智力支持和政策建议等，且具备进一步深造的潜质。

MA in International and Regional Studies
Duration:2 years
Training Objectives：
After completion of all the modules required, Graduates shall:
1. have the ability to apply the technology and method of modern scientific research, to read the professional literature of his/her native country, to read and translate Chinese materials into specific languages, and write and communicate in the official language of his/her native country.
2. have learned about the up-to-date research results and theories of International and Regional Studies, acquired the preliminary and general professional knowledge for interdisciplinary studies, formed a clear research direction and research characteristics through the comprehensive research on countries and regions of specific languages, have a clear understanding of relevant research topics and their own views on some of these research topics.
3. have the ability to conduct cross-cultural exchanges, dialogues and communications on international occasions, and independent scientific research, provide intellectual support and policy suggestions for the exchange and cooperation between China and his/her native countries, and have the potential for further study.
三、申请人条件
1. 持有效护照的非中国籍公民。
注：申请人应持有效的外国护照或国籍证明文件4年（含）以上，且最近4年（截至入学年度的4月30日前）之内有在外国实际居住2年以上的记录（一年中实际在国外居住满9个月可按一年计算，以入境和出境签章为准）
2. 对华友好，身心健康，学习刻苦，成绩优异。
3. 学历和年龄要求：
攻读外国语学院国别与区域硕士学位者，须具有学士学位，原则上年龄不超过35岁
4.语言要求
申请中文授课项目要求提供汉语水平考试HSK4级证书，申请英文授课项目的非英语国家申请者要求提供雅思成绩5.0分及以上或等同于此水平的相关证明，申请人来自英语国家或接受过3年及以上英文教学课程可免提供英语水平证明。英语国家可参考链接：

III . Eligibility
1. Foreign citizenship with valid passport.
Note: The applicants should hold the valid foreign passport or nationality certificate more than 4 years. In the latest 4 years (up to April 30 of the enrollment year), the applicants lived in a foreign country more than 2 years (the actual living abroad for more than 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit stamps).
2. Chinese Friendly; good physical and mental health; hardworking; academically excellent.
3. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:
A holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for the program of MA in International& Regional Studies .
4. Language Requirements
HSK 4 or above certificate should be provided if applying for the Chinese –taught program, IELTS with 5.0 or above or other equivalent language proficiency certificate should be provided if applying for the English-taught program. Applicants who are from English speaking countries or received education more than 3 years in English can exempt from providing the relevant English language proficiency certificates.

四、新生奖学金
（一）中国政府奖学金
1.A类：国别双边项目
“国别双边项目”系根据中国与有关国家政府、机构、学校以及国际组织等签订的教育合作与交流协议或达成的共识而提供的全额奖学金或部分奖学金。
申请人直接向各国留学生派遣部门申请。
2.B类：中国高校自主招生项目（支持地方项目、高校研究生项目、中非友谊奖学金项目、丝绸之路项目、中欧/中美/世界知名大学学分生项目等）
中国高校自主招生项目系向中国部分省、自治区的省级教育行政部门和部分中国高校提供的全额奖学金，用于部分中国高校直接遴选和招收优秀的外国青年学生来华学习。
申请人直接向三峡大学申请。
支持地方项目、高校研究生项目、中非友谊奖学金项目一般只招收攻读研究生层次的留学生；
中欧/中美/世界知名大学学分生项目用于资助三峡大学合作院校推荐的交换生（合作院校是指与三峡大学签订了学生交流协议，并通过CTGU向国家留学基金管理委员会申请获得奖学金项目批准的院校）
3. 资助内容和标准
（1）资助内容 包括学费、住宿费、生活费和综合医疗保险费。
（2）资助标准 减免学费；提供免费宿舍（水电网络电视信号维修等费用自理）；综合医疗保险费
4. CSC每年对奖学金学生进行年度评审,评审结果决定下一年能否继续享受奖学金。

三峡大学奖学金项目是由部分学院为了发展来华留学教育，资助本科生新生第一年学费的奖学金项目。
IV . Scholarship for New Students
Chinese Government Scholarship
1. Type A: Bilateral program
Bilateral Program includes a full or partial scholarship established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or consensus between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations.
Please apply directly to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.
2.Type B: Chinese University Program (Supporting Local Government Program, Chinese University Postgraduate Program, China-Africa Friendship Program，Silk Road Scholarship Program, CSC Exchange Programs, etc.)
Chinese University Program is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports graduate students.

Supporting Local Government Program, Chinese University Postgraduate Program, China-Africa Friendship Program aim to recruit those who are applying for a PhD or Master’s programs;
3.Scholarship Coverage:
（1）Tuition fees;
（2）Free university dormitory （Personal expenses such as water, electricity, internet, TV signal, and damage compensation are excluded）;
（3）Comprehensive medical insurance.
4.Note: Scholarship recipients shall receive evaluation annually. The evaluation result will decide whether he/she can continue receiving the scholarship or not.

China Three Gorges University Scholarship
In order to develop international students’ education, some colleges of China Three Gorges University provide scholarship which only covers tuition fee of the first year. The programs are: Bachelor in Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering/ Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Automation/Bachelor in Automation.
五、申请流程
1. 网上申请
（1） 中国政府奖学金项目需同时在中国政府奖学金来华留学管理信息系统http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn和三峡大学国际学生管理服务平台http://lsx.ctgu.edu.cn提交申请。三峡大学机构代码为11075. 国别双边项目请选择奖学金类别A，中国高校自主招生项目请选择奖学金类别B；
（2）地方政府奖学金和三峡大学奖学金项目仅需在三峡大学国际学生管理服务平台http://lsx.ctgu.edu.cn提交申请。
（3）申请人提交申请后，请关注系统里申请状态和查看个人邮箱；
2. 资格和材料审核
招生办公室对申请者材料予以初审。初审合格的学生材料发送至相关学院复审。相关学院组织考核，对申请者的学术水平进行复审。招生办公室将拟录取学生材料上报教育部或湖北省教育厅、湖北省外事办公室审批，审批合格者予以签发JW201//JW202表和录取通知书。
签证申请
被录取者向中国驻其国籍国或居住地国使领馆或中国外交部委托的其他驻外机构申请办理学生（X1字或X2字）签证。被录取者如果不持学生签证入境，三峡大学将不能为其注册
V．Application Procedure
1. Online Application

Please Choose Program category type A which refers to Chinese Government Scholarship-Bilateral Program, and Choose Program category type B which refers to scholarship programs responsible by Chinese universities under Chinese Government Scholarship-Chinese University Program.
（2）Hubei Government Scholarship and CTGU Scholarship applicants only need to submit application online at:

（3）Applicants are better to pay attention to their application status in the system & check their email after submitting the application.
2. Qualification and Application Documents Review
The admissions office shall make a preliminary examination of the applicant's materials. Those documents of the applicants who have passed the preliminary examination shall be sent to relevant colleges for review. Relevant colleges shall organize assessment and review the applicant's academic level. The admissions office will submit the materials of the students to be admitted to the Ministry of Education or Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office for approval. Those who pass the approval will be issue JW201 / / JW202 form and admission notice.
3.Visa Application
Admitted applicants shall apply for a student visa (X1/X2 visa) from the local Chinese Embassy/Consulate or other official missions authorized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China.
Those applicants hold other types of visa rather than student visa (X1/X2 visa) will not be registered at China Three Gorges University.
六、申请材料

VI．Application Documents
1. Scanned copy of valid ordinary passport (personal information page).
2. Notarized highest diploma or degree certificate issued directly by university with official stamp and signature; Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
3. Academic transcripts of the highest diploma (Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.);
4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English);
5. Two Recommendation Letters signed by professors or associate professors for postgraduate programs applicants. (written in Chinese or English);

八、费用相关
新生需准备以下费用：
学费：15000元/年
住宿费：国际公寓A栋或B栋：双人间 4800元/年
研究生公寓：双人间 3600元/年
保险费：600元/年（非中国政府奖学金生）：需一次性缴纳所有学习年限的保险费，方可注册。
注册费：400元
生活费：约1500元/月
其他：约1500元用于体检/认证，居留证件办理等事项支出
VIII. Fees
Study at CTGU, you are expected to bear the Expenses as below:
1.1 Tuition Fee: 15000 RMB/Year
1.2 Accommodation fee:
1.2.1 International Building A or B: 4800 RMB /year/bed for a room with two beds.
1.2.2 Post Graduate Building: 3600 RMB /year/bed for a room with two beds.
1.3 Insurance fee: 600 RMB /year/person. The payment of insurance should be paid in full according to the whole length of study at the freshman’s arrival before she/he can be registered or accommodated into the dormitory.
1.4 Registration fee: 400 RMB /person.
1.5 Living expenses average around 1500 RMB /month/ person.
1.6 Other prospective expenses around 1500 RMB such as Health Check/Authentication fee or Residence Permit Application Fee will be charged by the relevant institutions in accordance with their fee specification.
New students should keep in touch with the relevant colleges. And register according to the time and requirements on the admission notice.
